About CN Fans

What CN Fans is for, who writes it, how claims are checked, and where to write when we get something wrong.

The short version

CN Fans is a blog, and the line under the logo, Shop smarter, fan harder, is the whole editorial brief. New articles go up when they are ready, and everything we have published stays available in the blog archive.

Most of what is written about fan merchandise and online shopping is written by people who have never had to live with the results. CN Fans is the opposite arrangement, and that is the whole idea behind it.

How this is paid for

The site pays for itself through a small number of outbound links. It has never been enough to change what gets written, and the day it is, we will say so here.

The topics

  • Games. Online gaming guides, game reviews, and digital entertainment for every kind of player.
  • Fan Merchandise. Physical and digital collectibles, licensed gear, and what makes fan merchandise worth buying.
  • Shopping Guides. How to buy smarter online, from finding trusted sellers to understanding what you are actually paying for.
  • Digital Products. Downloads, subscriptions, and virtual goods that add real value to a fan collection.
  • Reviews. Honest reviews of online stores, fan merchandise platforms, and digital product services.
  • Fan Community. How fan communities form around shared interests, purchasing decisions, and collecting culture.

One article, one topic. It keeps the category pages usable, and in practice games, fan merchandise and shopping guides are where most readers end up.

The method

Nothing here is written from a search results page. If we have not handled it ourselves or spoken to somebody who has, we leave the topic alone until we have.

We buy what we write about. It is slower, it is more expensive, and it is the only arrangement that lets us say a thing was not worth it.

If you want the mechanics rather than the summary, the editorial policy has them, including what we refuse to publish.

Who writes here

There is no house byline here. Each piece is signed, and each signature leads to everything else that person has put their name to.

Yuki Harada, Digital consumer and fan culture writer. Yuki Harada grew up following anime and game releases from both sides of the Pacific, and started writing buying guides when she noticed how few of them were honest about what shipping and customs actually cost. She covers fan culture, online retail, and the gap between what merchandise looks like in photos and what arrives at your door.

Liang Wei, Chinese platforms and merchandise researcher. Liang Wei spent three years sourcing official and licensed merchandise directly from Chinese manufacturers, then shifted to writing about it after too many buyers asked him the same questions. He focuses on platform reliability, price comparison, and the practical side of buying goods that do not have a straightforward return policy.

Maya Chen, Fan community and online retail writer. Maya Chen moderated a large gaming fan forum for four years before turning her product knowledge into consumer guides. She covers everything from in-game purchases to licensed collectibles, and writes with the assumption that the reader has already been burned by one bad purchase and is trying to avoid a second.

Where we stop

What we do not do is predict outcomes. Nothing about fan merchandise and online shopping works that way, and pages that pretend otherwise are selling something.

Corrections

Tell us which line is wrong and why, at [email protected] or through the contact page. Small errors are corrected the same week. Anything that changes the advice gets a dated note at the bottom of the article.
